Nick Fouquet Introduces Limited Collection of Three Styles of Hats – the Coprinus, Morchella, and Reishi™ Boletus – Made with Reishi™ by MycoWorks
The world’s first ready-to-shop objects Made with Reishi™ make their debut today, as luxury milliner Nick Fouquet introduces his limited collection of hats featuring Reishi™ – the Coprinus, Morchella, and Reishi™ Boletus, now available for purchase at NickFouquet.com.
A milestone in MycoWorks’ journey to Grow the Future of Materials, with this collection MycoWorks makes Reishi™, the world’s first premium Fine Mycelium™ leather alternative, commercially available for the first time. The sheets Nick Fouquet has selected are 100% plastic-free Reishi™, making this collection the first plastic-free, Fine Mycelium™ leather alternative products available for purchase. Included in the collection is the Reishi™ Boletus, the world’s first object made entirely of plastic-free, mycelium-grown leather—a first for the industry. For the Reishi™ Boletus, Nick Fouquet leveraged Reishi™ as the main material, and for the Coprinus and Morchella, as decorative details and trims.
“We are elated that consumers can finally wear and enjoy designs made with Reishi,” said Sophia Wang, MycoWorks Co-Founder & Chief of Culture. “MycoWorks has always partnered with best-in-class, luxury craftspeople and is continuing its legacy with famed designer, Nick Fouquet. This collection of Reishi hats exhibits the unique hand and versatility of our materials.”
The Reishi™ sheets that Nick Fouquet has chosen are from our Reishi™ cotton selection; they offer a natural grain hand-feel, one-of-a-kind texture, and a soft, natural patina that is unique from sheet to sheet. This selection appeals to qualities of originality and raw beauty and results in finished products that are one-of-a-kind.
“The bucket hat we’ve designed showcases Reishi’s beauty and pliability and brings the possibilities of this revolutionary material to light. It is a durable, beautiful, supple material,” said Nick Fouquet. “Our clients want luxury made from materials they can feel good about. Reishi™ is the answer.”
“What Nick Fouquet has crafted is an exhibition of the versatility of MycoWorks’ Fine Mycelium™. Beautiful, strong, pliable, and biodegradable,” said Matt Scullin, CEO of MycoWorks. “Nick Fouquet has opted for an all-natural, plastic-free and animal-free Reishi™ sheet. The style that he’s selected highlights the material’s color and texture; aspects unique to MycoWorks’ Fine Mycelium™.”
